I was in the Oakville AC church w/ John, Scott & Emma. Everyone had been seated and the ministers were in the pulpit, but we needed to leave. We headed down the aisle between rows of pews on the right side of the sanctuary to where there used to be a doorway in the wall at the front between the front facing and side facing pews, but there had been some remodeling going on and the opening had been blocked in and stuccoed over. We had to turn around and walk out toward the back where we saw a new opening in the wall about half way back.
There was a gap in the regular seating pattern with a short wooden divider separating the back of the bench from the foot space of the one behind it. It was only about a foot wide, but the divider the same height as the back of the benches so we could scoot through sideways. I started to turn into this gap, but there was an old woman bent over on her hands and knees picking up something off the floor. She didn’t look like she would be going anywhere fast so we gave up on that option, too. We were really starting to attract attention, so we just headed for the back of the room.
Ha ha, this sounds scary!
